Tuesday was scheduled to be our week-day break. A quickie to the Kawasaki shop for the kid, Old Glory Harley for me, and dinner a nice little Italian place for the wife. The stops at the bike shops were mostly just to look, but looking always ends up costing my wallet.
The kid found a new pair of riding gloves - just like his old pair, except with red trim. I suppose they match his helmet and bike. And as we were walking out, I just casually asked if they had any frame sliders for his bike. Yep, some bolt-ons that required no cutting.
Last night, he and I spent a few hours learning how to take his bike apart and put it back together without any extra parts left over. Believe me, he kept watching and looking at every stage of the process.
The first side took about 2 hours. The other took 30 minutes. What a difference a little experience makes.

They fit pretty well. The left side protrudes thru the air inlet in the faring while the right side has mill notches for fitting the faring. The kid thinks they may stick out too far and perhaps cause him to hit his knees against them. He'll have to wait untl it quits raining to find out.

They are not symmetrical as far as how far they protrude, but they seem like they will do the job. My only concern: they rely on only one bolt - not really enough for rotational rigidity. They really need torquing and it looks like I'm going to add some Loctite on those threads as well.
